The Maffi Racing team will appear in larger numbers at the next round of the F4 Central European Championship than we’ve seen so far this season. The Swiss outfit is adding another car to its lineup, bringing the total to five, with one newcomer and one familiar face joining the roster.
Andreas Lo Bue, Teodor Borenstein and Nikolaj Dyrved are the three Maffi Racing drivers who have been competing in F4 CEZ since the start of the season, and they will race at Slovakia Ring as well. However the latest update from the team is the return of Kirill Kutskov to F4 CEZ, where he will step in for David Walther.
“David and Kirill shared the seat during selected rounds of the Formula Winter Series and the same arrangement applies to F4 CEZ. Both are competing full-time in the Italian F4 Championship, which remains their main focus. This approach is purely preparatory, as we’re working toward a bigger vision and long-term commitment for 2026 and 2027,” explains team principal Daniel Maffi.
Taking the wheel of the fifth Formula 4 car will be young Igor Polák, who will make his single-seater debut after years in karting.
“Igor is a rookie driver who began his testing program with Maffi Racing earlier this year. He’s completed several test days, consistently showing progress each time he’s out on track. To prepare Igor for the 2026 season, we’ve collectively decided to enter him in the final two rounds of this year’s CEZ championship. Our main goal is to let him experience a real race weekend, that’s the top priority. We also want him to become familiar with the process of preparing for qualifying and racing. Our expectations are simple: start and finish the races and manage the weekend with focus. Above all, we hope he enjoys this important step into single-seater racing,” added Maffi, who is gearing up for a busy weekend.
Maffi Racing currently sits third in the teams’ standings and is in a close battle for second place with Renauer Motorsport.
