The third round of the F4 Central European Zone Championship got underway at Slovakia Ring on Friday morning with two Free Practice heats, where Maffi Racing’s David Walther set the fastest lap of the day.
Free Practice was divided into two sessions, with 19 drivers taking part in the first heat and 18 in the second heat. Benefiting from slightly warmer conditions and track, the drivers in the second session posted the quickest lap times.
Walther topped the combined classification with a lap of 2:03.369. Just 0.125 seconds behind was Jenzer Motorsport’s Teo Borenstein. Third overall in the combined results from both sessions was Simon Rechenmacher from Cram Motorsport. These three drivers were the only ones to break the 2:04 barrier.
Max Karhan finished fourth overall, while the top five was completed by his Jenzer Motorsport teammate Markas Silkunas.
Two qualifying sessions are scheduled for later today, at 16:45 and 17:10.
