Maffi Racing driver David Walther from Denmark was the fastest driver in qualifying for the F4 Central European Zone Championship at the Salzburgring. Max Karhan from Jenzer Motorsport secured second place overall.

The field of 40 cars was divided into two qualifying groups of 20 drivers each. The quickest driver across both sessions was David Walther, who competed in Heat 1. He was the only driver to lap the 4.241-kilometre Salzburgring in under 1 minute 21 seconds, securing pole position with a time of 1:20.906.

Second fastest in Heat 1 and also second fastest overall was Max Karhan, who recorded a lap of 1:21.024. Jenzer Motorsport teammate Elia Weiss topped Heat 2 and was third overall, missing Karhan’s time by a mere 0.005 seconds.

The top five in Heat 1 were David Walther, Max Karhan, Dean Pedersen from Mathilda Racing and Jenzer Motorsport drivers Markas Silkunas and Ella Häkkinen.

Heat 2 was interrupted twice by red flags, making it difficult for the drivers to put together consistent runs. Nevertheless, Jenzer Motorsport drivers Elia Weiss and Teo Borenstein claimed the top two positions. Simon Rechenmacher from Cram Motorsport finished third, followed by Aleksandar Bogunovic from ABA Racing by SG Motors and Knud Eske Nielsen from Real Racing.

The first race of the weekend is scheduled to take place later on Saturday 15:50.
