Canadian racing driver Nicole Havrda is set to make her debut in the Formula 4 Central European Zone Championship at the next round, taking place at Slovakia Ring from August 23–24. The 19-year-old driver will join the Czech outfit JMT Racing.

Havrda will become the fourth female driver on the F4 CEZ grid at Slovakia Ring. She is currently competing in the F1 Academy with the Hitech TGR team and between her F1 Academy commitments, she will also join the F4 CEZ field with JMT Racing.

“Our team has been in contact with Nicole and her management for quite some time,” said Tomáš Peleška from JMT Racing. “We’ve been exploring testing and racing opportunities since the start of the season. Nicole races all over the world, so finding a suitable date wasn’t easy. To everyone’s delight, the chance finally came in the second half of the F4 CEZ season.”

Nicole faces a busy schedule in the coming weeks. She will debut in F4 CEZ at Slovakia Ring, race the following weekend at Zandvoort in the F1 Academy and then return to F4 CEZ for the season finale in Brno the weekend after. “It will be a challenging combination in terms of both time and logistics. It will also be special for the whole family, as they will be racing at home for the first time, because Nicole may be Canadian, but she has Czech roots,” Peleška added.

“Nicole will face the tough task of adapting to unfamiliar European circuits and to F4 Tatuus single seater, which have in F4 CEZ different specifications than the ones she has raced before. However, we believe that thanks to her experience and the expertise of the JMT Racing team, she will handle this challenge well. We are also looking forward to her insights and feedback on the championship, the circuits and the facilities. After all, the Formula 1 world is a completely different environment. Still, we believe we’ll all enjoy the weekend and achieve a strong result,” Peleška concluded.
