F4 CEZ Academy Pre-Round: Record participation, intense training, and on-track competition

From November 8 to 10, the preliminary round of the next F4 CEZ Academy season took place in Prague and Most. Promising young drivers went through a demanding three-day program that concluded with an opportunity to earn a seat for the 2026 season in a Twingo race car.

The F4 CEZ Academy offers a comprehensive preparation program and a real chance to break into the world of motorsport. Under the supervision of professional coaches and racing drivers, participants are tested in every area of their skills.

A record 28 entrants signed up for the new season’s pre-round. The event was split into two parts: the official opening was held in Prague at the CMK karting arena, followed by two days at the Most Autodrom for the ten participants enrolled in the full three-day program.

“We were delighted to see such strong interest in the opening day at CMK. The participants went through a complete training program, and during the kart race they had a chance to win the next two days in Most free of charge,” explained F4 CEZ Academy founder Josef Křenek.

The kart race was won by Jakub Černošek, who took full advantage of his prize to continue in the academy and, like many others, got behind the wheel of a Twingo race car for the very first time.

However, the opening day at CMK wasn’t just about karting. Nearly thirty academy participants were divided into three teams led by Sylvie Jablonská, Kristýna Dytrtová, Aleš Sirný and Marta Vlachynská. The day’s schedule included simulator training with RaceGear under the guidance of Martin Kadlečík and Martin Sirotek, physical preparation led by Jindřiška Fialová and mental coaching sessions with Hana Čurdová. Participants also took part in on-camera interviews with Anna Gregarová, Martin Knápek and Tomáš Vacín, and also demonstrated their motorsport knowledge in a written quiz.

After the first day, the top three across all disciplines were Martin Toth, Jakub Černošek and Nathan Wisniewski. The following participants advanced to the sessions at Most: Lukáš Bílek, Dominik Jirák, Tomáš Kunc, Martin Toth, Marie Vávrová, Matyáš Vitver, Matěj Vokřínek, Oliver Zajíc, along with kart winner Jakub Černošek and David Toth, who earned his place in the full program by winning the Czech Sim Racing Championship at the Racing Expo fair week before.

In Most, the academy continued with theoretical and practical lessons of the racing school, complemented by a social media workshop with Lada Holman and a sim racing competition on RacingFuelSimulators, coached by F4 drivers Max Karhan and František Němec.

A highlight of the weekend was the Renault Twingo slalom held in the paddock area. For many, it was their first time driving a real race car and they had to complete a marked course in the fastest possible time, prepared by Oliver Šteiner, Lukáš Houlík and the Lema Racing team.

The sim racing race was won by Martin Toth, followed by Matěj Vokřínek and David Toth. In the slalom, the fastest times were recorded by Matěj Vokřínek, David Toth and Lukáš Bílek together with Tomáš Kunc, who shared third place with identical times.

The final day of the F4 CEZ Academy focused on race school theory before all participants competed for the fastest lap time in the Twingo. Two groups of five drivers were first guided around the circuit by Adam Kout and Jiří Jupa, then practiced on their own and finally had ten minutes to set their best time at the Most Autodrom. The fastest of all was David Toth, ahead of Dominik Jirák and Martin Toth in third.

The event concluded with the overall results announcement. Martin Toth emerged as the overall winner, followed by Matěj Vokřínek in second and Lukáš Bílek in third place.

Thanks to his overall victory, Martin Toth earned a free place in the 2026 F4 CEZ Academy season, while the other participants were offered discounted entries. Martin Toth and David Toth (whoqualified through his Sim Racing Championship win) thus became the first confirmed drivers for 2026. They will compete in four Renault Twingo race weekends at Grobnik in Croatia, Salzburgring in Austria, Most and the Slovakia Ring. During these weekends, their intensive training program, similar to what they experienced during the November pre-round, will continue.
