Friday afternoon’s practice session of the F4 Central European Zone Championship officially launched the third round of the season, with two Jenzer Motorsport cars topping the timesheets.
Championship leader Gino Trappa set the fastest time 1:21.809, finishing ahead of his teammate Max Karhan. David Walther from the Maffi Racing team was third.
Hungarian driver Benett Gáspár from Zengő Motorsport showed great pace, setting the fourth fastest time. His speed looks promising for the rest of the weekend.
Javier Herrera from Jenzer Motorsport was fifth in the session, just ahead of David Gorčica from the Janík Motorsport team. The only local driver, Simon Schranz, racing for the Austrian Renauer Motorsport team, was seventh and has high hopes for his home race.
Nicolas Cortez, the fourth driver from Jenzer Motorsport, was eighth. Mathilda Paatz from Mathilda Racing finished ninth and was also the fastest female driver in the field. The top ten was rounded out by Hady Mimassi from Renauer Motorsport.
Saturday’s program begins with qualifying at 11:40, followed by Race 1 at 15:10.
