The penultimate race of the F4 Central European Zone championship at Brno was dominated by Javier Herrera from Jenzer Motorsport, who led from start to finish to claim his second consecutive win. Gino Trappa finished fifth and goes into the final race with a 17-point lead over rival Max Karhan, who crossed the line second.
The grid was set by the results of Race 1, with Herrera and Karhan starting from the front row, Kirill Kutskov and Nicolas Cortes on row two, and Paatz and Trappa on row three.
Herrera made a strong start to keep the lead, while Karhan held off a fast-starting Paatz, who briefly threatened second place. Karhan successfully defended and Paatz then lost out to Kutskov.
After the opening lap the order was: Herrera, Karhan, Kutskov, Paatz, Trappa, Gorčica, Borenstein, Havrda, Gáspár and Němec in tenth. Meanwhile, Hady Mimassi and Simon Schranz of Renauer Motorsport, along with Andreas Lo Bue of Maffi Racing, headed to the pits for quick repairs.
Borenstein then passed championship leader Trappa to move up to fifth, which would become his best F4 CEZ result. Further ahead, Paatz put heavy pressure on Kutskov in the fight for third. Karhan ran a safe distance ahead of them, while Herrera continued to build his lead, extending the gap lap after lap.
Further down the field, František Němec again battled with Stefan Treneski and Michalina Sabaj, as in Race 1, this time joined by Florentin Hattemer and Nicolas Cortes. Cortes had dropped from fourth after contact with a Renauer Motorsport car on the first lap. In lap nine, Cortes passed Němec for tenth and in the end also Nicola Havrda.
At the front, Herrera controlled the race comfortably, with a three-second gap over Karhan. The fight for third, however, turned into a thrilling five-way battle as Kutskov came under pressure from Paatz, Borenstein, Trappa and Gáspár. When Paatz attempted to overtake Kutskov, she lost momentum and was passed by Borenstein, Trappa and eventually Gáspár as well.
Herrera took a commanding win ahead of Karhan in second and Kutskov in third. Borenstein achieved his best F4 CEZ finish in fourth, followed by Trappa in fifth and Gáspár in sixth. Paatz finished seventh, Gorčica eighth, Cortes ninth and Nicole Havrda completed the top ten.
