The F4 Central European Zone held a one-day official test on Thursday at Salzburgring, with a total of 25 cars taking part across morning and afternoon sessions.

The day began in chilly but sunny conditions as teams and drivers prepared for 180 minutes of open-track running. Thirteen teams were present at Salzburgring: Jenzer Motorsport, Cram Motorsport, Zengo Motorsport, Mathilda Racing, SG Motors, Drivex, Renauer Motorsport, AS Motorsport, Janík Motorsport, Sladečka Motorsport, Hunok Motorsport, Dutt Motorsport and JMT Racing.

Elia Weiss set the pace in the morning session with a time of 1:21.567, followed by his Jenzer Motorsport teammates Max Karhan and Teo Borenstein. Simon Rechenmacher from Cram Motorsport was fourth fastest, just 0.005 seconds ahead of Benett Gaspar from Zengo Motorsport.

In the afternoon session, Max Karhan topped the timesheets with a lap of 1:20.774, a full second quicker than last year’s pole position time at Salzburgring. Weiss was second, Borenstein was third, and their teammate Georgiy Zasov placed fourth. The top five was completed by Aleksandar Bogunovic from ABA Racing by SG Motors.

Salzburgring will host the second round of the F4 CEZ championship from May 29 to 31.
