Second start-to-finish victory for Ethan Ischer

Second start-to-finish victory for Ethan Ischer

Swiss driver Ethan Ischer achieved his second win of the opening round of the ACCR Czech Formula championship at Hungaroring. Ischer brought his Formula 4 car to the first place ahead of his teammate Reno Francot, and Jenzer Motorsport will take home a double victory.

The drivers lined up on the starting grid in the order in which they finished the first race. Ethan Ischer started from pole position again, alongside Michael Sauter. Behind them were Reno Francot and Niko Taylor. The third row was occupied by Olivér Michl and Jiří Šafránek.

Sauter managed to overtake one of the Jenzer Motorsport drivers in the first race and immediately tried to do the same at the start of the second race. However, in a close battle with Ischer, there was a slight contact that damaged Sauter’s front wing.

Sauter began to fall back gradually, and in the third lap, he drove to the mechanics to replace the front wing, losing hope of repeating his result from the previous race.

The Jenzer Motorsport team controlled the race, with Ischer in the lead and Francot behind him, who initially drove closely behind his teammate but then couldn’t keep up with him. On the contrary, there was a close battle for third place between Niko Taylor and local driver Olivér Michl towards the end of the race, but Michl couldn’t find a way to overtake and had to settle for fourth place behind the victorious Ischer, second-placed Francot, and third-placed Taylor. Šafránek finished fifth, and Sauter sixth.
