The starting lineup at Balaton Park is packed with youth and talent

The F4 CEZ championship once again opens the door for young drivers. The second season of this Formula 4 series is attracting more participants, and the first show of strength will take place this coming weekend at the Balaton Park circuit.

The F4 CEZ series has undergone several minor changes compared to its inaugural season. The most significant change is that drivers now have three races per weekend. Pirelli has also become the official tire supplier. Besides the overall standings, there are classifications for women and absolute beginners – and there are many of them in the field.

The F4 CEZ starting grid includes three ladies. Kornelia Olkucková from Poland will represent Maffi Racing, while Michelle Jandová will defend the Czech colors in SAPE Motorsport. Also, the team AS Motorsport enters Michalina Sabaj – the third young lady in the starting field. Olkucková’s team mate will be Kirill Kutskov, while Jandová´s team mate will be Marek Mičík. Both are also members of the F4 CEZ academy.

„My goal in the championship is to reach the podium,“ says Olkucková. „I also aim to quickly adapt to the new environment, improve my driving skills, and consistently score points. I expect to gain invaluable experience that will broaden my horizons and contribute not only to my development as an athlete but also as a future sports psychologist,“ reveals Olkucková about her ambitions beyond the steering wheel.

The competition is really strong this year. The grid will even feature the son of former Formula 1 driver Alex Wurz. Young Oscar Wurz will join Jenzer Motorsport alongside last year’s F4 CEZ champion Ethan Ischer, Shimo Zhang, Andrija Kostić, and Czech driver Max Karhan.

„With Jenzer Motorsport, I participated in the last three races of the previous season. It was my first experience racing with Formula 4 on major circuits,“ says Karhan. „I was amazed and completely satisfied with the functionality and operation of the Jenzer Motorsport team. My goal was therefore to continue with the same team from last season – and that was successful.“

Polish driver Franciszek Halatnik will race for the Czech team, Junior Orlen Team. „Originally, I was supposed to appear in the Clio Cup, but Formula 4 came up. I definitely expect nothing less than the best result at the end of the season, which is to be first. I also have long-term career goals. I want to continue on to higher formulas.“

Among the Czech representatives is also the JMT Racing team, for which last year’s debutant Miroslav Mikeš will start. Another team in the field is the Hungarian Gender Racing Team, which will field Jonathan Correrella. Last but not least, we will also see the Austrian team Renauer Motorsport and Romanian driver Luca Savu behind the wheel.

The starting lineup thus promises a battle of young blood and fierce talent. The field will expand with additional racers at the second event at the Red Bull Ring, and we will find out who will become the historically second champion of F4 CEZ at the end of the season.
